Fame at last

The Chronicle Herald published my interview. A few details were off (I've had 15-20 physical interactions with cars, rather than being knocked off my bike 15-20 times, and a lot of my scars are from mountain biking or bike stunts gone wrong as a kid rather than solely from car related injuries) but hopefully it'll cause a few drivers to think how they behave around cyclists.

Wow! I think I learned more about you from that article than from reading your blog! You're English?! Like with an accent and everything?

Also, you're much taller than I expected. You're a giant!

Most importantly, I'm glad to see you better and upright. Take care of yourself.

Yep, I'm English, with an accent and all (though I like to think *I* don't have an accent, it's just all these people around me...)

I'm only 6 foot 5. If you want to meet a giant you want my cousin Chris, who's 4 inches taller than me.

Thanks for the good wishes!

Only six foot five? Hee hee. At 5 foot 4, you and your cousin could swat at me like a fly!

qwll I guess your story didn't help much for some people or they didn't read it. Yesterday I was riding my bike up sackville st and got hit by a lady in the intersection at bell rd not paying attention as she raced into it and turned into me. No damage done to me and my bike suffered a small untrue spot as well a broke chain from me stopping hard... but man there needs to be more awareness of this stuff in halifax and motorists need to learn to pay attention at the wheel.

Ouch! Glad you're here to tell the tale, Krow. Did you call the police and report it to them?

Jillian, it starts at Victoria Park at 6pm. There's a web site at http://halifaxcriticalmass.ath.cx if you want to keep track of what's going on.
