Ride home for Thursday, 13 April

I was pretty fully loaded coming home, as I was bringing home all the equipment I'll need for next week - laptop, toolkit, CD collection, boots, etc. This meant I had a significantly higher amount of inertia than usual, which made for some interesting braking the first few times before I got used to it. The wind didn't help either, especially from the side - the frame bag, panniers and rack trunk combine to make a pretty effective sail, and at points I could feel myself being blown to one side of the road and had to tack a bit - an interesting feeling when I'm going downhill at around 45km/hr!
